"ROCKVILLE, Va., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- TecAccess, www.tecaccess.net, a leading provider of accessibility solutions, has announced a "Recovery Act Accessibility Coupon" as a packaged, cost effective solution for agencies and federal vendors to accelerate their Recovery Act readiness. The recent stimulus bill, known as the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act," is a $787 billion measure designed to fund a wide array of projects and programs to jump start the economy and create jobs. Accessibility will be a critical component for all of the federal agencies responsible for spending and distributing stimulus funds, as well as federal vendors hoping to do business with the government.

"It will be critical that these agencies and funding recipients comply with all applicable laws, including those protecting the rights of people with disabilities," explained Debra Ruh, founder and CEO of TecAccess.

Federal agencies and vendors will be responsible for such laws as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), and the Rehabilitation Act, which make accessibility a condition of federal funding. Standards issued under many of these laws include standards for electronic and information technology issued under the Rehabilitation Act (Section 508)."
